THE BOOK - Erik Vessel, owner of a high-class and widely known firm of auctioneers in New York, by now fees quite safe. The "valuable" secret he shares with Nick Kartize, producer of hard core films, also appears to belong to a life which is very distant and very different from the new one they have made for themselves in the United States, far away from Germany and Italy and from a past which is best forgotten.

THE BOOK - It seemed to be a normal, cold monday at the beginning of february: it was instead just the beginning of a numberless series of dismal episodes starting in Siena with the suicides of two famous polish musician. THE AUTHOR - Luciano Simonelli lives in Milan where he is working from fourty years in the publishing world. As journalist, he has been special correspondent, literary critic, head of cultural services and now he is a free-lance. As researcher, he has till now discovered unpublished pages by various italian most important writers, including Dino Buzzati, Guido Piovene, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Giovannino Guareschi. As a manager, he has been responsible for general and editorial direction of two important publishing companies. Author of several volumes of historic and literary essays as well as a biography and a play, in 1996 came out with «One hundred billions dollars», the first of some novels with which he want to show an original italian approach to tales of intrigue and action. «The Seven Eyes of Life» is the second novel of his series.
